Recording studio helping beginner bands develop albums for free

MANKATO, Minnesota (KEYC) – “We have given our heart and soul to everything we do,” said Trevor Skarie. “I mean, like he said, all of these resources, these contacts that we’ve built over all these years of playing music together, we just want to share them with people.”

Trevor Skarie and Tim King are the co-founders of Dirty Laundry Records.

The recording studio has opened its doors to emerging artists looking to release some of their first content but who may not be able to afford it. They offer help with the entire album process, from recording and mixing to production and marketing.

Everything is completely free.

“I think the great thing for me is to rethink when I started doing it before I kind of got the foot I have now, how much it would have changed the course of my musical life if someone had offered it to me from the start, “said the king.

The two started helping groups last October and are currently working with a Milwaukee group called Courtesy.

The band have had recording sessions in the past, but they say it was different.

“Coming here, that’s all I hoped it would be,” said Courtesy guitarist Jack Clausen. “We were able to record in a really happy and healthy environment. We need to have full creative control over our music, our style, and whatever else we want to do. “

While the process of creating an album can be daunting, Dirty Laundry Records uses their musical background to make the process as easy as possible for their bands, and they strive to create the best possible product.

“It’s remarkably rewarding, I really like doing it and the same way these bands like to perform, I like to sit at the desk, turn the dials and make records,” King said.
