Visitation for Wes Fry, 90, of Quitman, Texas, will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Military honors will take place during the visitation at 10:30 a.m. Mr. Fry died June 30, 2022 at Caraday of Quitman.
Wes was born on April 14, 1932 in Muscatine, Iowa, to Howard and Minnie (Frieden) Fry. He married Sue Perkins on September 29, 1987 in Sulfur Springs, Texas. Wes was a United States Navy veteran. He proudly served in the Korean War. He was a welder for Fry & Son Welding in Muscatine, Iowa. He helped build Hon in Sulfur Springs, Texas, and remained in charge of maintenance. Wes loved guns and boats. He was with the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Muscatine, IA. Wes and Warren Poll held the record for drag races in Cordova, Illinois in 1954 and 1955.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; daughter, Lynne Failer and husband Fred; sons, Bryan Fry and wife Wendy, Richard Timko and wife Linda and Jeff Timko and wife Lori; and grandchildren, Brady Fry, Paige Packucki, Peyton Browning and her husband Andrew, Veronica Timko, Valerie Timko, Haley Timko and Aden Timko.
Wes was predeceased by his parents; brother, Joe Fry; sister-in-law, Char Fry; and his son, Stephen Timko.
