More Symphony Backstory Could Be Revealed In Season 2

Power Book III: Raising Kanan is the prequel series of Power Universe. Set in the early 90s, the series chronicles the teenage years of Kanan Stark (Mekai Curtis). Kanan is raised by his drug queen mother, Raquel “Raq” Thomas (Patina Miller), and indoctrinated into the drug business she runs with her brothers, Marvin (London Brown) and Lou Lou (Malcolm Mays).

In season one, fans saw Raq bond with a man named Symphony Bosket (Toby Sandeman). Now they expect more of the mystery man’s backstory to be revealed in Season 2.

Season 2 of “Raising Kanan” will premiere on August 14

Just over a year after the premiere of season 1, the second season of Raising Kanan is set to debut on August 14. Starz has released the official description for the series. It reads,

As we enter season two, Raquel “Raq” Thomas has taken control of the town’s drug trade, but her son slips away. Kanan Stark returns to Queens unsure of his future with the family business, and because of Detective Howard’s continuing secrecy, he is even more uncertain of his past. Kanan searches for the truth as Raq boldly expands the business into hostile Mafia territory. Lou-Lou has other plans revolving around his emerging label, but Raq isn’t about to let his hustling side get in the way of his expansion. Although Marvin remains Raq’s loyal soldier, he struggles to earn Jukebox’s forgiveness and become the father she deserves. The ties that bind this family are unraveling, but Raq will stop at nothing to keep them together.

Symphony’s Backstory Could Be Revealed In “Raising Kanan” Season 2

There’s so much we don’t know about Symphony. Although he earned his master’s degree and supported himself by teaching and as a bartender, much of who he is remains a mystery. He doesn’t seem in tune with Raq’s business, and he even got involved in helping Kanan get out of town after shooting Detective Malcolm Howard (Omar Epps).

Now, fans are expecting to see more of his backstory come to light in Season 2 of the show. “This man is 100% an undercover cop, federal agent or informant. He gave her too sharp a picture,” a Redditor suggested via Express. “I also have the cop haircut, something is wrong with Symphony.” Another added: “Yeah he kinda makes me feel like he could be something other than a bartending grad student which I’m still on the fence about.”

Could Symphony and Breeze be the same person?

Since Symphony is so little known, other than seeming unaffected by Raq’s way of life and having a wealth of knowledge about town planning and its effects on the black community, many people assume that it could be Breeze.

Long term Power fans know Breeze is the person Kanan eventually teamed up with to build his own drug empire. Kanan and Breeze were the couple who ultimately mentored Ghost (Omari Hardwick) and Tommy (Joseph Sikora). However, Ghost eventually killed Breeze and trapped Kanan so he and Tommy could run the organization themselves.

Now, Power Universe executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who also voiced the adult version of Kanan, said we haven’t seen Breeze yet on Raising Kanan.

“It’s up to the writers and showrunner to decide, but viewers should expect to meet Breeze by season 2,” he said. TVLine. “He was Kanan’s partner and boss and more aggressive than anyone could cling on or handle. Breeze became Ghost and Tommy’s boss, and Ghost ended up killing Breeze before the viewers met him.
