King of Spain released their debut single ‘Robot Lemmings’ through the Shifty Disco Download Singles Club in March. They have since expanded to become a 4-piece band, adding a bass player and drummer to their line-up and this is now the set-up for gigs and their most recent recordings.

In July the band spent a day at Truck Records’ studio in Oxfordshire recording new songs, one of which was Flying Machine. In essence the song is a tribute to the Arsenal player Jose Antonio Reyes whose arrival as a new young player at the club inspired Bayly Pike to write the song. It is also a bitter tirade against the ‘Chelsea Millions’!
