“Disappointed” is taken from blue kite’s third CD, “Resolution,” which is due for release next month. As with previous blue kite releases, it was recorded by Rich Haines at Dungeon Studios in Warwickshire; regular blue kite members Pete Lock (vocals and guitar), Mark Price (guitars and keyboards), Alan Buckley (bass, guitars and keyboards), and Tim Turan (drums and percussion), were joined this time by Meraud Grant Ferguson on cello, and Kate Garrett on vocals.
Kate was an established folk musician in her native Dorset before moving to Oxford in 1992 to join the Mystics, and is now a reknowned solo performer with her own band.
“Disappointed” showcases Kate’s exceptional vocal talents, and also features Jo Bennett of Goldrush and Jenny Craig on (slightly mad) mariachi-style trumpets.
Classic pop – but with a decidedly dark edge……
