What began, innocently enough, as a songwriting spree in homage to the great songwriters and pianists of yesteryear (Burt Bacharach, Todd Rundgren, and Gary Numan to name a few) has become the unveiling of Philadelphia's own BC Camplight (aka Brian Christinzio). Before recording his debut EP with producer Brian McTear (Matt Pond PA, Mazarin, Washington Social Club, The Carlsonics), Christinzio worked as an assistant in a group home for schizophrenic patients in Southern New Jersey. Already a regular on the Philadelphia music scene, Christinzio has played keyboards for psych-rockers The Echo Orbiter and singer/songwriter Bill Richini in addition to recording with both the acclaimed Trouble With Sweeney for their album "I know you Destroy!" (Burnt Toast Vinyl) and The Bigger Lovers for their recent release "This Affair Never Happened" (Yep Roc). |
