Kelman
Shut A Final Door
Sept 15th sees the release of Kelman's second album, I Felt My Sad Heart Soar, on Liner Records, distributed by Cargo.
Kelman are a London-based 3 piece consisting of Wayne Gooderham - (guitar/vocals), Marc Gooderham (drums) and Paul Ragsdale (keyboards).
The new album is a follow up to Kelman's self-produced/released debut of 2006, Loneliness Has Kept Us Alive, which received airplay on Radio 1 (Huw Stephens) and XFM (John Kennedy) and was very well received by the press.
In 2007 Kelman were asked by Rare Victory Records to contribute a song to a Grant McLennan tribute album, Love Goes On!, and it was through recording their version of the Go Betweens' Apology Accepted (currently streaming on their Myspace site) that Kelman stumbled upon the sound they wanted to achieve on future releases: rawer, more representative of their live sound, yet keeping the warmth and intimacy of the band's early singles and debut album. This is the sound Kelman have achieved on I Felt My Sad Heart Soar and is a natural progression from their debut album.
To celebrate the new album's upcoming release, Kelman have teamed up with the good people at Shifty Disco to release a track from the album on the last Friday of each month from August to October as part of the Shifty Disco Download Club. The first download single comes out this Friday 29th August, in the form of live favourite, Shut A Final Door (also currently streaming on Kelman's Myspace page). Future releases are scheduled for Sept 26th and October 31st.
Kelman play about once a month in London and have the following gigs booked
