Ed Dodd and Owen Gaffney are song writers.

Ed is a writer who splits his time between Nottingham and the States. He criss-crosses North America, travelling light, picking up itinerant work and stories, keeping journals.

Owen writes electropop. He learnt his craft at Confetti Studios in Nottingham, alongside Emma (Scout) Niblett.

Owen has been writing with Ed on and off now for some years. 'The first time I met Ed, I'd picked him up travelling south. Said he'd been waiting a couple of hours. It was raining.'

'Even to this day, we can laugh about exactly what was said, what we wore and what we smoked. Hitching, or picking up hitchers, makes you observant: you never know when you might have to recount it all in front of a judge.'

In 2006, they formed a new band, The War Crimes, following a conversation between Ed and Swedish song writer Nicolai Dunger in a bar in Madison, Wisconsin. The War Crimes have performed six times in public. Seven if you include court appearances ('lewd' behaviour).
