Seagull Strange released their debut album "Better Angels of Our Nature" earlier this year. Being dubbed 'the best American record done by an English band ever' by High Voltage, it is full of hook-laden songs that draw influences from Eighties synth pop to R.E.M-style melodic rock, all sharing a haunting, dark quality likened to the brooding calm before the storm.

Out this week is their new CD single featuring a single version of album-cut "La La La Ley" condensed into 3 minutes of sophisticated, unashamed pop. The CD also features 2 new unreleased tracks ("Infested Waters" and "Black Day Dawning") plus this wondrous reworking of "La La La Ley" by Will Brownlie, the acclaimed electronica and hip-hop producer. Moreover we've have kindly thrown the curio video for the single onto the back-end of the CD.

Buy the CD here for less than 2 quid.

"La La La Ley" is a successful marriage between the Black Keys and the Flaming Lips.
