Spunkle is a project masterminded by local artist James Davies who is already making a name for himself in the world of the visual arts. With a First in Fine Art and work for Levi's already under his belt, Shifty Disco decided to incorporate some of his paintings as hidden data tracks on the CD. Anyone putting the CD in an audio player will have a two track CD single, however in a Mac or PC CDROM slot, the single becomes an art gallery with a brief biog on the artist.

Spunkle has since collaborated on the mighty fine SPU*N*K*L*E* Allstars, ahem, project. His last single almost became Single of the Week in Melody Maker despite the fact it was just a piece of 7-inch vinyl painted black. Totally unplayable.
