WAKEFIELD UP AND MAKE LOVE TO ME ….

Introducing a quite lovely band from Wakefield Yorkshire where a new toy and musical instrument library has recently been introduced .. In the words of the sitting council;

‘This will help children by giving them access to a rich variety of high quality toys and enabling them all to develop vital skills. It will support parents and carers in discovering the appropriate toys and play activities for their children, and in understanding the role of play in child development’ LITTLE JAPANESE TOY as we like to call them, could be beneficiaries of this service, or indeed the main donators to it, given the vast array of real live instruments presented herein. Not since Brian Wilson stood proud and mad in his indoor sandpit, trying in desperation to second guess the Fab 4, have we heard so much syncopated, discordant beauty .. music to put the breath of life to your sails, and see you to your homeport, where the folks wait for that regurgitated morsel.

THAT AINT NO WAY TO TREAT A LADY ..

The band originally came together in the spring of the year 2000 under the shameful moniker of Dr. Gonzo & the Smoking Fisherman and voyaged out on a seemingly fruitless tour of Scotland, where they were forced, at one stage, to busk in Glasgow city centre … or face starvation, quickly spotted by legendary Norfolk entrepreneurs The Sickroom Gramophone Company, they released a highly acclaimed debut 7" ‘Little Boy’, which subsequently drew plaudits from the likes of Everett true and the mighty John Peel himself, naturally the moment these three wonderful pieces fell through our letterbox we were smitten, and we hope you are too, or at the very least intrigued.

BETTER LIGHT THAN NEVER

So a respectful apology for the slight tardiness of this delivery, we’re flat out ‘at it’ at the moment, worth the wait though we hope you agree. You may like to find out more and be reasonably wowed by the bands website, which can be found at

do not be alarmed when it takes over your computer as this is meant to be, it’s artistic licence we say.
